Croft Round 1 2022

A long journey North to Croft in April, we did the test day on the Friday and then had a day of watching racing on The Saturday, met up with Richard and Kirsty from our karting days and had a catch up.

Come race day qualifying in the morning I did a few laps bedding in brakes before Jack got in the car and managed to qualify in second place 0.02 seconds from the pole position time, a great lap.

Last race of the day and Jack ran in the lead group of 3 cars occasionally swapping places, the 3 broke away from the rest of the pack, Jack is truly one of the fastest out there now in our overweight and under developed car, fantastic to watch. Our first pitstop was undertaken without drama.

At the second stop I got in the car with about 25 minutes to run, the stop was timed as Jack was coming to traffic, unfortunately he passed it all so he should have stayed out a bit longer but tactics don't always work.

We led for a while before the Carrington-Yates car caught and passed us, unfortunately the third place car got a run on me out of the hairpin and in my efforts do defend I went wide at the first corner and after a bit of a fight with the wheel to avoid the barriers dropped to 5th place where we'd finish. Jack deserved a better result from that race.

Thanks to Adam and Kyle Levinson and Mark for their help with the stops and timing on the day, to Jane and Callum for Marley sitting, much appreciated everyone.
